Onyx' 10 Commandments

All dogs should be thoroughly trained, so keep that in mind when you are thinking about taking a dog. The following 10 commandments I'd really like to suggest you to keep in mind. (credits to some other websites were this was placed on)

10 Commandments of a Bernese Mountain Dog

1.	Hygene is important, so always carefully wipe your feet to clean white sheets or clothing. If you just get out of the mud, then ensure yourself nobody is watching and rub your back along the couch. This is especially recommended when you're wet.
2.	Find nearby trousers or skirts after dining - you can perfectly use them as napkins.
3.	Being a Berner, you are a large sized dog and often in the way of humans' walking route. This doesn't have to be a problem if you lay down on the couch
4.	Guard your territory, so run through the bushes in the garden and dig out the flowerbed to ensure that there are no unwanted insects.
5.	Joyfully welcome guests: jump onto them, kiss them, guard them to the toilet and don't forget to push your nose into their coffee to ensure it's not to hot: ensure you're a good host.
6.	Cut the plants short. If necessary, put your feet on the table, as long as you do your work right.
7.	Check the kitchen working surface thoroughly for any leftovers: this could get spoiled and should be removed out of precaution.
8.	In the middle of the night you should check all beds to see if everything is ok. Put your wet nose on theirs to ensure they are still breathing.
9.	If you're joining your boss in the car, make him feel comfortable by putting your head on the shoulder of the driver and kiss him/her in the ear.
10.	Be always clear in what you want. If you're on the leach, pull your owner forward so he knows where you want to go.

10 Geboden van een Berner Sennerhond

1.

hygiene is belangrijk, veeg je voeten dus ook altijd goed af aan het schone witte kleed als je net uit de modder komt: ben je er zeker van dat niemand kijkt, wrijf dan ook nog even met je rug langs de bank, ideaal wanneer je nat bent.

2.

Zoek na het dineren de dichtstbijzijnde broek of jurk: dat zijn de beste servetten.

3.

Als berner ben je aardig groot en loop je nog wel eens iemand in de weg: geen probleem ga op de bank liggen.

4.

Bewaak je erf, ren dus goed door de struiken en spit het bloementuintje om zodat je zeker weet dat er zich hier geen ongedierte bevindt.

5.

Begroet alle gasten uitbundig: spring bij ze omhoog,zoen ze uitgebreid,begeleid hun naar de wc en tenslotte duw je neus in de koffie zodat je weet dat de koffie niet te heet is:alom wees een gastheer.

6.

Snoei de planten flink kort, desnoods ga je met je poten op de vensterbank of tafel staan: als je je werk maar goed doet.

7.

Controleer het aanrecht nauwkeurig op de mogelijkheid van overgebleven restjes: dit kan namelijk gaan bederven en moet ter preventie opgeruimd worden.

8.

Ga midden in de nacht alle bedden langs om te kijken of alles nog in orde is en leg je natte neus op die van hen om er zeker van te zijn dat iedereen nog adem haalt.

9.

Zit je met je baas in de auto en is het nogal druk op de weg, leg dan als blijk van je goede vertrouwen je kop op de schouder van de bestuurder en zoen hem/haar in het oor.

10.

Wees duidelijk in wat je wilt,loop je aan de lijn trek dan je je baasje omver, zodat hij weet welke kant je op wilt.
